Privacy

Faunora keeps your email, your handle and the animals and plants you catch.

Photos are re-saved on our server before they are stored, which removes their hidden data, including any GPS position. They are public by default; a photo with a clearly visible face stays private until you share it. You can make any catch private or release it, which deletes the photo.

If you allow location, the exact spot is saved and shown only to you on your map. Everyone else sees an area about 2 km across and its name. Place names come from OpenStreetMap, which is sent the centre of that area, never your exact spot.

Each photo is sent to OpenAI to name what is in it. Votes, follows and reports are kept to run the feed. Requests are counted per address to stop abuse; the address itself is not stored.

You can download everything Faunora keeps about you, or delete your account and all of it, from Settings on your profile.
